Electra implements world-class supply chain technology for traditional jamu company
Electra implemented a world-class supply chain business solution for Indonesia’s second largest traditional jamu company, PT Air Mancur on Jan 13, 2005.
Jamu is a special blend of herbs which is made only of plants good for maintaining fitness, medication, increasing vitality and beauty care.
The new supply chain initiative is an integral part of the company’s aggressive business plan to extend its dominance in the domestic marketplace and expand international sales. Air Mancur is also the first company to adopt this innovative technology in Asia.
Implemented over a period of six months in five different phases, the project commenced with a supply chain assessment to map out the company's supply chain strategic blueprint that is aligned to the company’s overall strategy.
Next came the operational model changes, the supply chain process and information technology requirements.
The information technology change involved the deployment of Infor Advanced Planning to help Air Mancur optimise its production planning and inventory control across five production facilities in Solo City, Central Java.
Anticipated benefits of the project include reduction in inventory costs, procurement expenses and an improvement in overall efficiency of supply chain operations and optimisation.
